Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 22, 2026
John Regales at johnregales.com is operated by Theranos LLC, California, United States. This policy explains how we handle information when you use this fictional, AI-generated satire site.
Please use general, everyday topics. Do not submit personal, private, or confidential information. Topics are processed by our hosting and AI providers, and approved topics become part of shareable links.
What we process and why
- Topics and stories. We process the topic you submit, the generated story, and automated content-check results to create stories and apply our content rules. A blocked request may already have been sent to a provider for review.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider processes requests and may log IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, timestamps, response status, and related diagnostic information to deliver, secure, and monitor the site.
- Messages to us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information in your message so we can respond and handle your request.
The story generator has no user accounts or application database of submitted topics and stories. Its application error logs contain operational codes, not topic or story text. This does not prevent our providers from processing or retaining data as described below.
Our service providers
Netlify hosts the website and runs the service that receives story requests. Request processing, technical logs, and traffic statistics are subject to Netlify's service terms and retention practices. See Netlify's privacy information.
Anthropic provides the Claude API used to generate stories and check both topics and completed stories for safety. We send it topic text and generated story text for those purposes. Our application does not forward your browser's IP address to Anthropic as part of those requests.
Anthropic states that API inputs and outputs are normally deleted within 30 days, with exceptions for safety enforcement, legal obligations, and other agreed arrangements. Flagged inputs and outputs may be retained for up to two years, and safety classification scores for up to seven years; legal requirements can require longer retention. See Anthropic's current retention policy.
Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. We may also disclose information when required by law or necessary to address fraud, abuse, security, or legal claims.
Your browser and shared links
We use your browser's session storage to remember the last two story categories so the generator can vary its stories. This stores category names, not your topics or story text, and remains until the browser clears that session or you clear site data.
After a successful generation, the approved topic is added to the page's URL. It may appear in browser history, copied links, and hosting logs when that URL is requested. Anyone with the link can read its topic. Opening a topic link automatically submits that topic to generate a new story; it does not retrieve the original story.
Copy and download buttons place content on your clipboard or device. Sharing to X sends the prepared topic, excerpt, and link to X when you open its composer. Information you choose to share is then subject to the recipient's or platform's practices.
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers on this site. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Browser Do Not Track signals do not change the site's current behavior.
Retention and your choices
The application keeps the current topic and story in the open page rather than a saved story history. Copies in browser history, downloads, clipboards, shared links, and provider systems have their own retention. You can clear browser history and site data and delete downloaded or copied content using your device's controls.
We keep privacy correspondence only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and document the request or meet legal obligations. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, or object to or restrict its processing. Contact us using the address below. We may need to verify a request, and we may be unable to locate a story that the application did not save. Legal exceptions may limit deletion.
Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate steps.
Changes and contact
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes, we will also place a notice on the site.
